Automated Trader Magazine invites EGAR Technology to offer the expertise of the market and technology field

EGAR Technology Chairman and CEO, Gena Ioffe, was interviewed by the editors of Automated Trader Magazine. Automated Trader is published by Algorithmic Media Ltd, a private publishing house based in Bath, UK. Being the first global magazine dedicated to automated and algorithmic trading across all asset classes, the magazine provides in depth coverage from both the technological and business perspective. Key editorial extends this coverage across all asset classes, to provide all categories of market participants with comprehensive information and analysis of relevance and value.

Gena Ioffe was asked to share his experience for the editors to write an article about automated and algorithmic trading in the US options market. Automated Trader looked at the challenges that remain to the use of automated trading models in the US equity options markets.

The questions responded by Gena Ioffe touched upon the role of automated and algorithmic trading in options market, the limited impact of penny pilot on market and market data challenge.

“According to Ioffe, the majority of firms operating in the US options market have achieved a high degree of automation, but he says that integrated automating trading systems across the whole of the trade life cycle – from pre-trade to execution and to risk and volatility management – is still largely the preserve of the larger players in the market.” (an abstract from the article)

There were also some topics showing Gena Ioffe’s view of the biggest challenges, software advances, sophisticated technologies and specific ways of reducing application latency in algo / auto trading. This included the ways of using multi-threaded applications as a means of reducing application latency in algo / auto trading, advances being made in parallel processing that are particularly relevant, the most suited programming languages and the ways in which the calculation of common analytics (e.g. statistical functions) can be improved to reduce application latency.
